The boys have today and tomorrow training and that will be the end of the training. It is a wonderful opportunity for them to gain the most out of such an excellent coach. It is a shame that most of the kids don’t see that as they didn’t put much effort in to today’s training.
Mario had organised some games for tonight. The first one was both teams individually against the same U16 team. Blue just couldn’t pull it together and went down 11-0. Gold did a little better and at least got on the board. David scored which made it 1-3 and at halftime thescore was 1-5. Lucas then scored from a lovely pass in from Caleb making it 2-7 and the game ended with 2-8 loss.
Then Mario managed to get together a team of U14’s for us to play against. Many of the boys felt that they would do a lot better against a team their own age. It was a MACSA team and it appeared that it is one that Mario trains. David & Charlie decided to play the whole team minus the injuries on the bench. Jack played first half on the court to get a break from goal. He scored the first goal of the game. At half time it was 1-1 and it looked pretty even. Daniel did a beautiful chip over the goalie’s head after Jeremy intercepted and passed it to him, making the score 2-2. That was when they really put the pressure on and they scored another 2 goals. We ended up losing 2-4. There are certainly some talented kids at MACSA. Hopefully the boys will all make the most of their last training day with Mario. I certianly think that the games tonight were humbling for them all.
